iMOVIE- NETS I, II, III, IV, V
This was a Public Service Announcement I made in the software called iMovie. It was concerning the hate crimes happening in CSUSM.

Often teachers avoid technology in their class because they fear the misuse from students with technology. The article precisely discusses and encourages teachers to become more confident in using technology in their class. The article talks in how as educators we need to take on the digital citizenship role and become an example to our students. They talk how customizing your classroom activities and assignments artistically could benefit and not limit your classroom standards. An important characteristic about being a teacher is to manage the educational network that their school provides and make sure everything is professional and not confused with a social network. The Article talks a lot about Flat Classroom Projects, the website helps teachers to become more involved in making their classroom Digitally motivated. Here teachers practice in monitoring their students use of projects online.
What happens if students use inappropriate behavior online?
Usually students themselves may take a sccreen shot or comment to the teacher and then the teacher has the choice to ban the student from the project or apologize to a certain member or the class. Since the content is monitored all the time it is easy to notice new content that seems innapropriate.
When should students be educated about the internet?
As soon as they can use their little fingers to hit the keys. We are underestimating students potential to navigate the world web. Many kinder gardeners could already use Skype and 9 year olds could create digital portfolios and share with the rest of the world! It is an amazing thing watching what kids can do and it is a shame if we are just afraid to guide their way into becoming tech geniuses.

The article suggested new ways for kids to virtually visit and explore experiments, museums, historical sites, processes in organizations, watch demonstrations of certain fields, they can also attend some special events and festivals. There are two possible (VFT)Virtual Field Trips; Asynchronous VFT and Interactive synchronous VFT. The Asynchronous VFT are site that are live but rather are web-pages that guide you through a particular location or it provides podcast that show images of the location and relevant imagery and may provide written information about the place or topic. Interactive synchronous VFT is a live broadcast that comes from organization, historical place or museums. There video conferencing is done with an educator that guides you through a tour filled with information pertaining to the organization or place. The interactive VFT also provides activities and study guides sometimes, where students could become more involved before or after the lesson.
What are some of the websites for the Asynchronous VFT and how might they be helpful in the class?
www.efieldtrips.org This one is cool because it has 4 helpful components: It has an Expert tool that lets you ask question, it provides a hosted Webchat where students could discuss with each other, Virtual Visit which is the video guide into the place and the Trip Journal which allows students to write down their ideas.

You need to have a video conferencing software that is video compatible with h.323 and capable of IP based connections. You need to find a video equipment vendor that may assist your school. There is a charge for having the software and for the programs. You can try to see of videoconferencing companies offer grants and funding resources. Once you establish the programs you need to find reliable programs like the Creative Interacting Learning and Collaboration www.cilc.org.
